Red The Gnarls single will go down as an all-time classic, imho. It's rare for such a strong, non-novelty single to hang around at the top for so long. It brings to mind No Doubt's 'Don't Speak' back in '96 or so. It's not feelgood or overwrought, but it's just hit everyone right. I still need to pick up the Gnarls album, shame on me.
Vince W Heh!

I remember telling everyone in Jan that it wouldn't make No1 as the release date was months away and everyone was downloading for free off the internet!

That's my career as a pop pundit down the pan!

JK2006 Little Joe was on it way ahead.
Kev Oh man, another week for Gnarls, amazing. I played it to a few people in January who weren't keen but who then Emailed me once it was everywhere saying they loved it.

For me it was instant but it's clearly a grower for others which may be why it's hanging around at the top for so long.
Red Likewise, not convinced by Nerina, or Sandi for that matter. Slightly dubious hyping campaign re the webcast figures etc. Catchy enough song in the folk-hop mould though.
