Hitmaker Shakira's position is based on downloads alone and the physical version is out 21 September 2009 so look for it to make a strong push for number one next week. I also think it may be higher than 5 in the final chart this week.

giles2008 Problem with Mika is the song isnt Grace Kelly, Love Today, or Big Girl. I was surprised it did as well as it did getting to number four. The album may fare better.
itsmyparty Not been a strong singles chart all summer with plenty of average songs not yet available on albums reaching the summit. Early airplay + delayed release = guaranteed first week sales so nothing really unusual about that.

Taio Cruz's latest just fits perfectly the current music scene and what sells well on download (remember he also wrote the Tinchy Stryder/Amelle hit which topped the chart 5 or 6 weeks back).

As for Pixie, both #1s were 1 week wonders and the latest has the second lowest sales of the year for a chart topper just ahead of Lily Allen's 4th week at #1 with Fear. She was lucky to hold off David Guetta in the end who almost returned to #1 three weeks after he was last there.
JK2006 And Taio Cruz - very average; not a "real hit"...

What are those naughty majors up to?

Info please.
