Innocent Accused Yes of course JK,spot on with them originating in the great 50s folk boom.

If I'm not mistaken one of the male members had trouble with a sex offense,no doubt 'helped' along because of his fame.

Here's a link to the first song I ever heard of theirs, bought by my mother.

Peter Paul & Mary - Puff the Magic Dragon

And a link to my favorite song of theirs.

If I Had A Hammer PETER,PAUL & MARY

Or are her ashes "Leaving on a Jet Plane". (Which, oddly, though being their biggest UK hit, is not mentioned in most of the news stories).
JK2006 Actually PP&M were basically a part of the folk, pre-Sixties generation - although they borrowed from us (Bob Dylan songs), they and others like Pete Seeger and Joan Baez, were around during the previous era when the likes of Woody Guthrie dominated the music of the fifties.

So we shall see many more of them drop off this mortal coil - as contemporaries (Keith Floyd) and younger stars (Patrick Swayze) go as well.

Inevitable but still sad.
Innocent Accused Sixties people of course are now an age when death will be a regular visitor.
The real problem is that they were by far the most talented, and dominant generation. We mourn so many because like Mary they were part of something so special,a new way of thinking, and with a talent to pull it off.
