Yes GG, some would say I've contributed more to music than Robbie. |

Robbie's a star and a great performer. Period! ..and didn't the Spice Girls get this award previously.
I think this award is just about bringing attention to the British music industry, which both have done.
Maybe they should change the name of it, as the current name evokes lifetime achievement, which is kind of ridiculous for acts that are ten to fifteen years old. |

I really like some of his stuff. I can take or leave much of it. But I could really do without hearing Angels or Let Me Enetertain You ever again - too much exposure to late 90's braindead Local Independant Radio stations like Viking & Lincs has forced me to despise those 2 songs.
I do think he's been emotionally exploited over the years though, none more so than when he was hyper-successful circa 1998-2001. A lot of his songs were basically whinging which spoiled it for me. How excellent that he brought out Rudebox for his own satisfaction, and even more so that it was great.
He's probably one of those guys who is actually really cool once you peel away the layers of celebrity bollocks, and for that reason I feel he shouldn't be courting the likes of Cowell & the X-Factor just to shift units - he should just get on making the music he wants to make (with or without Take That). |
