Sadly, although Simon Cowell and Lucian remain the only people causing any sales these days, their dominance is affecting the ability of new talent to emerge - unless it belongs to one of them.
I see it the other way round: As long as the majors still have some sort of success the old way (via TV-shows and other mainstream media) and don't change the way they do business, there is a wide open empty space for new companies with new business models. |

Lucian was terrific in his early career but seems to have become very much the defender of the old model recently; probably because the majors will continue to dominate until his career finishes, so why rock the boat?
