MY FRIEND , you really need to get with the programme. Your comments about re-releases (there is no such thing) just show how out of date the old music so-called gurus are. ( I know, I had the displeasure of working with one recently, a complete dinosaur who dictated e-mails)
So, Facebook, 260,000 residual X Factor fans, blitz them all for week-1 sales, before anyone gets to a) read a review or b)change their mind, it is old fashioned street teaming sold with the new media.
Secondly, forget chart positions, they don't matter anymore, there is no money in it and the kids really do not give a shit. It is about micro-marketing and selling little bits of data to a lot of people regardless of location.
Idif there is a way of labels to cash in the old way, fill the shops wiwith cheap copies of Paul Soimon's Graceland, the BBC will no doubt use it for beds for the entire world cup and the grey-pound will want to own (again)
Ok? Lesson over, get back to work |

Single plummets from 8-18 after only three weeks; album drops from 1-7 - a massive collapse; it all reeks of hype so how did Sony do it and why? |
