DJKZ I think everyone should read about these guys and how they actually managed to achieve what they
have achieved. It is also a fantastic example of how the new music industry and the old music industry
could work together.

The Sons of Admiral all spent ages and ages making videos on Youtube on unrelated and random stuff
and were very entertaining at that. By doing so they took advantage of how Youtube works which is
it is a totally search driven site. Much better than Google in a way but still a powerful search engine.
They then amassed all these fans and to be honest should have knocked on every record label's door and
signed a licensing deal. Similar to how 5 Star signed with RCA after ONE TV appearance. It would be a
no brainer for any label to capitalise on.

What can we learn, well simple really. Make videos. There's no excuse not to. You can make TV quality
videos with cheap cameras. I know because I have done so. With a few must have tools you can then put
your own quality show together which MUST revolve around your band. This creates a bit of a mystique
and is a lot better than pimping yourself to all and sundry in the media. Use your Youtube channel
to announce your news and select where and who you give exclusives to.

It's all exciting really and once you have a lot of rabid fans you're laughing. Brilliant stuff !
giles2008 "Pass The Dutchie" by Musical Youth was also not very good and look what happened to that!! For those that dont remember it sounded like this.

toby It will hit a million You Tube views by tonight - just under a week since upload.
Pretty phenomenal for first single by unknown band.
brianmaiden its not very good though.
JK2006 At 850,000 views in 5 days the question is - will it hit a million in a week? I suspect the answer is YES.
