I agree JK. Release dates are pointless in this day and age, but we are forced into them by press, radio and TV. Just like we are forced to press up CD's before anyone will entertain your music.
Back to Gaga - it's now cracked the Top 10, which is incredible in a digital age from an album that has been around so long. The track is amazing, as are all the songs on 'Monster'. I'd be happy for them all to be released. If you've got it, flaunt it, and let's face it, Gaga is owning it at the minute. |

If I were running a major (nearly was; offer got scuppered by legal claims) I'd stop albums until after single releases - at which time I'd add them to ongoing "collections"... apart from artistic concept albums (Floyd - and I started it with Genesis) or classical/long works.
And I'd stop "release dates" (only an excuse for programmers to play music). |

Brilliant song agreed and it is in most people's collections already.
She is rather excellent. |

I think we're all GaGa-ed out for a while to be honest - Alejandro (fine song though it is) is the 7th single from The Fame/Monster package, and comes 18 months into a relentless promotional campaign where LG has hardly been out of the news or off the TV. She needs to take a break and "let the field lie fallow" for a while before coming back, though reports suggest new material is due in time for Chritsmas... |

Alexandro is clearly her second strongest song since Poker Face; a real global smash yet it seems to be doing less in the UK charts than others. Why? |
