Dixie, I agree 100% with what you have said. You put it much better than me.
What the Fab Chart and Ultimate Chart has to realise is that there will always be people who want to manipulate the charts. The only way you can show that your chart is unbiased is to state how it has been constructed.

Any chart that wants credibility has to be totally open about how it is compiled. It's why the BIGTOP40 That replaced Hit40UK on Capital and other ILR sataions hasn't worked. Nobody knows/understands how it is put together or what it means.
At least with the OCC Chart, you know what it stands for. It really does tell us what was the best selling song in the previous week.It's accurate and consistant, with no secretive methodology.

Whatever happened to The Fab Chart? I don't miss it as I didn't think it was a good concept as it was done anonymously without any guidance on how it was put together.
The Ultimate chart is a little more transparent but still much too vague to gain mass acceptance.

Very good assessment. I fear it is not the chart I would have created in Pop-I - the Popularity Index.
