Interesting to know why he's gone to LA and not NYC. I wonder if the Ex-Brits community is stronger (Simon Fuller, Simon Cowell, The Beckhams to name but a few), are all based there. I.e. it's easier for a family to be based West than East. (Also, the weather is better!).

As far as the music goes, I think the opportunities may be better too.

In fact, not a bad move. I'd do the same!
DJones Graine's job is not to sell music, but to sell the UMG.

And where are potential buyers (Apple, Google, Microsoft et al.) located?
Rocker The way things are looking at the moment I would say he is making a good decision.

The "Coolanistas" have wrecked the UK business - signing no hope bands with haircuts rather than songs and talent. Ignoring any crowd pleasing band during the last 10 years - much to the amazement of the general public who saw CLONES being run off production lines at the BRIT ( or should that start with SH** School ) with identical voices - dance moves - and X Factor posturing.

We only have ourselves to blame. There have not been enough voices raised in favour of good songs in the business in the UK. Those of us who have raised our voices have been shouted down for being UNCOOL or NUTS.

Putting it quite simply - we have killed the Golden Goose that laid the Golden Eggs and now we have lots of technically proficient educated musicians with the collective passion of an England team in the World Cup.
