It's the lack of excitement, JK ... nothing bussing right now.
We should also remember that whereas when we were young - and outlets for our cash were few and far between ! - we were obsessed by music and could not get enough, but now its available 24/7 (largely free !) and these kids have other things to spend their dosh on (mobiles, Wii's, PS2, Club 18-30 etc) ?
Thats why Universal spend ALL their time signing up nuns, priests or singing waiters - because they know thay can't sell records any other way ! |

In the past, even holiday months like August saw thousands of music industry execs active and busier than ever - especially the little and less successful.
Since entering the business was through love and not money, a vacation was never that for music people - we live and breathe it; we don't take time off.
Now however our declining industry sees no posts here since Friday; ditto ROTD and Velvet Rope... the business is staffed by drones.
August weekends? Dead air for music.
