Thanks for that Martin. I 100% believe in the band and reactions to the live show have been great so I thought it was time to get their music out into the big bad world! |

Album available as download only first, we did a physical release on an earlier cd this year, and blatantly got it the wrong way round.
Go for the downloads, and see if you actually need to fund a physical. I wish we could sell more copies of our cd`s, but it is mainly downloads that go.

I have been doing so just there JK, and some interesting reading it is too...
Seeing as you're online, what do you think RE physicals?
I'm inclined to agree with the "collectors" route and press up,say, a thousand vinyl and do the rest digital.
thanks for the quick response in any case ! |

1st attempt at a label |
Good morning gents (and ladies)
I have a quick question. I co-manage a new indie-rock act (i'm the inexperienced one in the partnership!) and we want to release a single to help get some press/airplay under the bands' belt.
I realise that promo cds are a must but do we actually need physical product to sell,or could the same job be done via iTunes/7digital etc?
Should I bother with selling physical singles or just go download only (charts are not even in my thoughts, just want to raise the bands' profile by getting some reviews/airplay )?
We have some interest from a few labels but I think building some sort of solid fanbase is more important at this point in time than worrying about if anyone's going to sign the band (as I have absolutely no doubts about that).
also, if any of you have suggestions about how to best make an impact with this single, that'd be great.
sorry about the "green" nature of this post, just a little wet behind the ears! |
