I would second that. Have you ever seen an interview of Jimmy Iovine addressing the future. Laughable.

What happens next depends of how much control Terra Firma still has over the future of their "asset".
Can Terra Firma sell (parts of) the EMI Group or do they need the approval of Citigroup? And will there be any buyers as long as EMI has all that debt on the books?
I don't know about the english laws, but if there is something like a bankruptcy under "Chapter 11" protection, the most like scenario is a controlled bankruptcy, Citigroup taken over and than selling the parts of EMI to the highest bidders.
The break-up of the EMI Group will be the start of a new round of consolidation. At Vivendi the window dressing for a sale of the UMG has already begun. And does Howard Stringer / Sony still believe in synergy?

Completely out of all proportion this is pretty disgraceful.
More important than that your prediction on Universal is interesting as it is the
only major in a good shape at the moment. Or at least with the most hits.

And further proof the bosses have totally lost the plot...
The loss of the ludicrous EMI/Citibank case - apart from the absurdity of the entire allegation ("If I'd known there wasn't another bidder I wouldn't have paid so much" - grow up, please... perhaps "are there hits here?" might have been a better motive) illustrating that Hands is not the right person to own a record company, it also illustrates that all the majors are doomed, Captain Mainwaring.
As usual I reckon the major in biggest trouble is Universal.
Thanks to Doug Morris they have survived best. But that has papered over the cracks in the entire structure.
Lucian is useless. David Joseph is not a good or prescient UK Chairman.
In 2011 the crash of Universal will be the big news of the music industry.
