I tend to agree with J&B. The Brits was NOT tiny viewing, just not as many as previous years. But as David Joseph stated, the show wasn't about just chasing ratings. For David's first year, he made some bold changes, that he should be given credit for. Also, as I read somewhere, Channel 4 usually get about a million or so viewers in that time slot, but got many millions due to a good final episode of a surprising hit show. (And C4 didn't get the viewers just because the Brits was on "the other side").
I'd like to think this year's Brits was the start of a new David Joseph era, that, now he's got his first one behind him, he can start being even more adventurous. Perhaps so adventurous to have JK as a consultant? (Sorry, I've gone into fantasy land, I'd better stop there!) |
