david Actually tom and anthony after repeated listens I am inclined to agree with you both. I like it but it won't stand out.

And as JK said on another thread, this is obviously written for Eurovision, and that doesn't work these days.

Still like it, but agree.
tom the contest has moved on since dana won and is much more competitive plus her vocals are not the strongest, will struggle to qualify
Anthony I'm a big Dana fan, David, but this song is quite weak. The Israelis bypassed a coup;e of fantastic songs for this, and it seems Dana's name won it for her. She has been a serious musical artiste in Israel and the Middle East in general for many a long year, certainly not the novelty act she would appear to be in these parts. Just not so keen on this song though.
david Wasn't sure about the song on first listen, kept waiting for the hook, but a few minutes later it's still in my head so it must have done its job.

On a side note I saw Dana International perform as a guest of Serbian musician Goran Bregovic at the Barbican a few years ago. It was an evening of wonderful Balkan musical chaos and s/he came across as a serious artist. Interesting.

In the meantime, here's the video for the Eurovision entry for this year

the live version is convincing tho
