This week featuring two quite dreadful Who covers of Stones songs and a novelty called The Hole in Elvis Presley's Left Sock.
This is a "must hear" show!

And the queue to replace him when he finally hangs up his mike, will end north of the Wash.

Apparently Sounds Of the Sixties has the biggest "reach" of any programme on UK radio (i.e. highest percentage of available listeners) which ought to tell us something...
One of my favourite Bowie albums is the BBC sessions compilation "Bowie At The Beeb", and some of Brian's links (and Peely's) that are included make wonderful time-capsule listening of what radio was like in the late 60's. He's an undiscovered national treasure, and we'll certainly miss him when he's gone.

Sounds of the Sixties is still brilliant; a clever mix of obscure oldies, classics and pieces of history - chunks of soundtrack from the era; and Brian still sounds wonderful. But big kudos to my old mate Phil Swern who puts it together.
