Check out How We Did It in Attitudes and Opinions! |

Props to you for coming on here to defend yourself and your single.
I am amazed at how well it did and how you mobilised your subscribers.
You outperformed all the Youtube stats to achieve this so well done. |

Yes, you are being very cynical. I can promise you that JK didn't put a penny of his own money into this, nor did he try to get special favours (it may surprise you to learn that the media and Jonathan King aren't best friends!).
The reason we sold so much is because of my audience; I released twelve different versions of the song, many of my subscribers bought all twelve versions, thus we needed twelve times less the amount of people required to get high up in the charts. |

Great achievement for Alex but sadly this is no triumph for an independent unsigned
artist as without JK's support and money this track would be nowhere.
Clearly you are pulling a lot of strings and calling up a lot of favours
(pretty much like how a major would do). The Youtube element is incidental and this
is just another Sandi Thom.
By the way I think the song is average but I like it actually. It is NOT a hit by
any way shape or form as far as I am concerned and I have heard better Youtube hits.
Rebecca Black's Friday for example and even Chocolate Rain spring to mind as does the
"raping everybody" song from America. But I do like it though not enough to buy it.
I do find it interesting how this track has been hyped into the charts and perhaps
Alex's 450,000 subscribers have played their role but the figures just don't add up.
Sorry if I am cynical about this but it just feels like there is some major label
behind the scenes.
If not then this could be a watershed for unsigned acts but somehow I don't think so. |

When will the next official chart be? The next two BBC charts are on a Sunday. I don't normally follow the "official" charts but I like to see what's No1 at Christmas. It's kinda traditional .. even if the song is crap. |
