His solo album is doing pretty well in the charts this week without any "major label support". And I agree, "She" could do well under the new model - or even under the old model with radio plugging, which would sell the album.
My copy hasn't arrived yet, but I'm looking forward to listening to it. |

I must tip off Jeff how to release and break SHE under the new model. |

As a direct result of the comments on this board, I downloaded and watched this programme whilst on the train today. It was a really well put together documentary, with insightful interviews. I too have just ordered the Jeff Lynne album. But I can’t really see the point of re-recording all the old ELO Classics. I haven’t listened to the re-recordings, (and I probably never will), but the more constructive reviews of the album on Amazon suggest that the exercise was pointless and Lynne has failed to capture the sound of the original orchestra and players, (strings, drums, bass) on the new versions. I shall look forward to listening to the new album, and I want to revisit the Travelling Wilburys.
Actually, what would be a good compilation, (yes, I still like CDs), would be all of the various songs featured in this programme, by ELO, Lynne, Orbison, Beatles, Harrison, Wilburys, Petty, etc., on one collection. But I suspect you’d never get clearance. Pity. |

I watched it last night. Brilliant documentary and what a very unassuming and down to earth guy Jeff is. Bags of talent, lovely comments from Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh. In a proper world 'She' would be number one for weeks on end. Wonderful cover.
I want Jeff's house! |

Funnily enough I was planning to get it because of the snippet of She. |
