GG I don't think there has ever been a greater song written than "Bridge over troubled waters"

I doubt Macca would disagree.

....and on another note no one can sing that song like Art. No one should even try. Art's performance of Bridge on the night of September 11, 2001 was possibly the most powerful moment I've ever seen in music.
The Astrological Twin I reckon Bridge Over Troubled Waters would come above any Beatles song in a global "favourite all time song" chart. I'm not criticising The Beatles but to my ears, "Bridge" is a different class and yes, I AM thinking of "Let It Be" (and God knows why Macca always seems to be doing "Hey Jude" these days ... it's not a BAD number but I think "Penny Lane" is stronger ...)

and more depressingly, where are the new Paul Simons?

There are lots of good new singer/songwriters around .. it's just that the mainstream media are not interested. They are too into X-factor etc.
JK2006 Might I remind Tipsters that the documentary about the making of Bridge - called, I think, The Harmony Game - is possibly the finest music doc ever made?
de-caf he was writing bridge over troubled water. read the post again muppet
