How far did JLS get? The didn't win. One Direction didn't win. Seems better not to win the X-Factor if you ask me.

Boy bands are often labelled "one dimensional" so who in their right mind would go with the name 1D?

One Direction is opening a store in New York City that exclusively sells merchandise for fans of the British boy band.

The pop-up store will open on Sunday, Nov. 17 in Herald Square. During the grand opening event, fans will get a chance to win plenty of 1D prizes, including merchandise signed by the band. Stores have also opened in Chicago, Sydney and Toronto and, if those grand openings are any indication, the New York grand opening will be packed with crowds.

New York’s Z100 will be on hand to cover the grand opening.

“With the release of One Direction’s second album Take Me Home just days away, the band is giving ‘the City That Never Sleeps’ the opportunity to experience a true 1D World,” said Barry Drinkwater, director of Global Merchandising Services, in a statement. Global Merchandising Services is the organization behind the store.

Merchandise for fans of all ages will be available at the store, including onesies, gloves, beanies and more. A total of 125 different products will be available at the store.

“The response we had in Chicago was simply unreal,” Drinkwater added. “One Direction’s fans are like no other and are incredibly loyal.”

K No I don't think so JK.

"A Slightly Different Direction" as someone on TV recently described them (apologies, I can't remember who!).

I believe One Direction's success is a combination of right place, right time and Harry Styles, that's it. This band are too late and don't have Harry.

Music wise I didn't mind "What Makes You Beautiful" can't think of any others right now but have you heard that "crazy crazy crazy" song? Appallingly bad. If I dared pitch that to anyone I work with I'd never hear from them again.
