dixie A fused 3 way adapter isn't suitable for high-powered items. OK for TV, video, lamp, etc., but a kettle, electric fire, or similar which can be 2kw+ is too much! You need an adapter with a curcuit breaker. (Your Electrican friend should have told you that!)
