It's a lovely record; he writes and sings about Sheffield also, but from the perspective of the Arctic Monkeys' more sober uncle, let's say; retro in an end-of-Scarborough-pier Chris Isaak way, but with quite a bit of Morrissey and Nick Lowe in there as well. |

I love the Kate Bush album, but it is vaguely flawed in it`s own way.(arguably great albums are)
It took a long time to record and it shows, however, it is a concepted album,in the traditional sense and not a collection of songs. |

Actually it's one I haven't heard but would like to, MC. |

It wasn't a vintage year, and Kate Bush should have won it, and if they allowed Mark Lanegan then they surely should have allowed Scott Walker.
However, the Richard Hawley album looks like it might go top ten next week so I'm pleased about that. His was definitely the best album on that list, though I suspect probably not up JK's street tastewise. |

Collections is the way to go for the moment. The whole market is geared towards this. With a few hits under the belt and then you can rehash collection after collection. Look at the Everly Brothers. I don't think i have ever listened to a proper album of theirs. Rather i have listened to and bought a number of collections. |
