‘overjoyed’ by the decision to double his jail term. 11 Years, 11 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2378805...UBLED-30-months.html

no idea what went on with Stuart Hall and maybe it's all true but why would a victim be 'overjoyed' at some old codger being banged up for 30 months because they groped their breasts 40 years ago ?

I was nearly beaten to death by some scumbags nearly 30 years ago. I'm partially blind in one eye because of it and it took me a good 18 months to recover. Never even thought about compensation.

They went to jail for 5 years...not because of me but because they plotted to fly in a light plane of heroin to the UK.

I felt neither good or bad...just pondered on the concept of 'karma' when I read about them on the front page of a tabloid.

I just don't understand this reveling in another's plight- even if they deserve it. It says more to me about the reveler....but then...I was knocked senseless.

All pointless stuff, hedda ... which matters not one jot !

The man is 83 years old FFS !!!!

Why not give him a 20 year sentence LOL !

He's hardly likely to survive the original sentence so its a purely pedantic exercise to increase it.

It's worrying that the increase has happened as a result of media headlines and sensationalist propaganda.

If Stuart Hall wasn't a celebrity then this case would only receive a short paragraph buried away in side. Therefore they're would be no complaints and so it is unfair he is been treated unfairly because he is in the public eye.

Would you hold the same view if he had touched up your wife or daughter?

It would depend on whether my wife or daughter had mentioned it at the time, how balanced they are today, how much exaggeration might have taken place over the years, how much I had faith in British Justice, the police, the CPS, lawyers... and finally on my own character and attitude to punishment, fair or unfair.

that's a reasonable question to ask but I have no answer. I would hope that neither harboured some soul eating hate within that served no useful purpose except to make them miserable.

To be publicly "overjoyed" is a bit inconsiderate to Stuart Hall's family.
