Message to Jonathan 11 Years, 11 Months ago
This is an open message to Jonathan King ....

I can understand you feeling injustice of "trumped up" charges and at best "shafted" by the system, being made an example by Media and those who sought their "moment of fame" by making accusations against a high profile person such as yourself .. but this is just a message to remind you of just who Jonathan King Really is ....

You have achieved REAL success in your lifetime, although you may not always see that. Not only did you have the good foresight to give to the public great music such as Genesis, 10cc and all the other bands that influenced a whole generation, but you are a credible artist in your own right also. You, Jonathan, are what people like Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell can only aspire to. To me, they are just like "inferior clones" of something that not only were you the pioneer ... but you were and always will be the "Master of music entrepreneur skills."

It's typical of people to pay respects, cudos and legacy credit for contributions. But I for one, would like to pay those just respects to you in the hopes you can actually read and see the credit you deserve. From the first play of Everyones gone to the moon on my old dansette, through UK records and your contributions to music in my teenage years of the 70's .. you can rest assured .. Jonathan King was a major influence to my life ... that will never change !!

Long live Jonathan King .. my message to you is time to leave all the hurt and anguish behind you .. and enjoy being who you are

Thank you Paul; but there was very little Hurt or Anguish, very quickly I realised it was all part of life's great experience.

As for my accomplishments I have to tell you (half way through writing my new novel) - every day I get more aware of how little of consequence I've managed and little time I have left to do something worthwhile.

But the novel is shaping up well!

I agree with much of this but I don't know how Simon Cowell and Pete Waterman can be thought of as "inferior clones"
Both have completely different skills and are hugely talented in their own right.

With all due respect to JK, I hardly doubt that Pete Waterman would aspire to be jk. After all he is one of the most successfull songwriters and producers of all time. A lot of his stuff was crap (Reynalds girls, Sonia), but there are also some pop classics too (Better the Devil you know - Kylie, and you spin me round).

Simon Cowell on the other hand has made millions from predominantly crap but popular music and tv shows (Mr Blobby, Robson & Jerome, X-factor)

You are giving Simon Cowell too much credit. He wasn't involved in Mr Blobby.
