Now finished the new JKRowling under the name Rex Kenny... oops, Robert Galbraith... pretty good; she's a first rate writer although this is in fact far less well written than The Casual Vacancy (but much better reviews - wonder why?).
It's a good read though; nicely plotted cop story.
Re:The Cuckoo's Calling... 11 Years, 11 Months ago
The end is a bit to neat: all loose ends tied up. And it (the end) comes rather suddenly, out of the blue.
And there are some (minor) irritations:
"Shortly after midnight, her long-term boyfriend, Matthew, had proposed to her under the statue of Eros in the middle of Piccadilly Circus."
The story takes place when Gordon Brown was PM (2007-2010), Eros has been removed from the middle of Piccadilly Circus almost 30 years ago.
"Matthew had told her not to walk around with her nose in an A-Z"
Even six years ago she would have certainly used a phone / Google maps.
Cormoran & Robin could be at the core of a good TV series.
