Is this what used to be called a storm in a teacup?

The police seem to be saying it's evidence of how wonderful the cops are... a bit like a dead man being "the worst paedophile in living memory".

How can a child disappearing with a forty year old she met on facebook not be of great concern?
I just wish the police took every similar case as seriously, because often they do little more than file a report, particularly if the child is in "care"
