Britain's day of good sense... 11 Years, 10 Months ago
Unlike ITK, Cameron and others who want to kill Libyans or Egyptians or Iraqis or Syrians using any excuse to push the WAR button, the House of Commons has had the good sense to say "No, there are other, better ways to help the oppressed".

no credible proof has yet been presented that the Assad government committed these offenses and as many have pointed out (including Hans Blix) the 'rebels' are supported by and contain Al Qaeda members.

Is it Assad? Is it the rebels? Whoever it is, it's ghastly but so is any killing (I can't quite get my head around why one kind of killing is worse than another). I think the worst mass murder was surely that in Africa (about 15 years ago?) yet we saw no Brits urging war against the Hutus or the Tutsis or whichever nasty regime butchered 800,000 innocent people. Surely a far worse situation, calling for immediate interference? But even then I would have said NOT war.

But there is a difference between what goes on in Africa and what happens in the Middle East. OIL!

Killing their own citizens. Yes, well, which countries do the most of this? Those who still have Capital Punishment I suspect. Should we send our boys into every one of them? Invasion, war... in order to defend these poor souls? I saw quite a few people in prison killed by the UK regime. Disgraceful, in my opinion, but let's start by putting our own house in order if we're serious about defending the right to life.

See the separate thread on countries who kill their own citizens - although, of course, different countries regard different citizens as "bad" - ranging from killers to rebels to drug pushers to rapists - you pick your baddie and EXTERMINATE!

I forget which ITK and others who justify murder wanted Libyans killed. And Iraqis. Wasn't chemical weapons (like those used by the USA in gas chambers) was it?

Other popular categories include jews, gypsies and homosexuals, intellectuals, catholics or protestants, hutus or tutsis etc etc etc

David Cameron looked angry when the results were read out but at least he accepted that "the people" had spoken (via their MPs). It was a great day for Britain, after many times of shame.
