Well yes, because now people have seen that if you make an accusation of sexual abuse, public policy is that it is taken on face value as being true. You then get a big chunk of money from the taxpayer. It really does seem to be that simple.

As far as I'm aware knowone has yet received any compensation as a result of accusations made relating to Operation Yewtree.

may ring them myself as a few bills have just come in.

Because there have been hardly any convictions? We know that the Savile "victims" are in for a hefty chunk from the estate and the BBC, and Stuart Hall's victims are asking for compensation too.

I don't agree with the bbc having to pay-out. They aren't responsible for a more lax attitude in the 70s and also the saville case has never been taken to court, so that is unfair. Stuart Hall wasn't part of yewtree, and there is no compensation yet.

The figure of £33,000 is about 1/2 a person's salary at the bbc, a lowly employee at that.
BBC money isn't necessarily tax payers money, it is a fee you have to pay if you recieve broadcast programmes.

there are a number of ongoing compo claims against Savile's estate, the BBC etc etc.

ambulance chasing lawyers will be relying on entities settling before they go to court but as already published : one Savile relative is fighting the actions against his estate.

Under such estate disputes, the estate pays for the legal costs which will eat up every penny of his estate ( the "trustees" already claim nearly one million pounds used up)...that relative has stated they would rather see lawyers get the entire lot than false claimants.

### get yourself horribly injured in a car accident or perhaps at work and so on...you will be waiting years and years even if in the right, for compensation. You will be put through hell and a hundred doctor's sessions by the insurance company.

hedda is always correct (99%) has always said : it's money that will bring this charabanc crashing to a halt...but it may take a long time.
