the embarrassing Murdoch candidate and London born Tony Abbott has won the election in Australia although the great frothing about Labor wipeouts never happened.

Even better, Labor & The Greens hold power in the all powerful Senate despite having every single newspaper (60% owned by Murdoch ) all TV stations (with Murdoch's son owning swags of shares) and the only large independant newspapers, Fairfax (controlled by a Conservative chairman and part owned by the wacky Gina Rinehart) singing from the same song sheet.

Similar in the UK would be if every single daily & Sunday newspaper and all regional papers openly supported the Conservatives only (or Labour)and dressed Ed Milliband (surely some mistake) or David Cameron as Nazis or Stalin as they repeatedly did with Rudd...or even wrote as Rupert's main tabloid did, a long and gloomy tale about how Kevin Rudd's attempt to curtail teenage smoking was similar to Adolf Hitler's vegetarianism.

I now live in the world's first Murdochracy.

no ITK it's you and your vacuous reliance on biased media reports which would have you believe Jimmy Savile also abused 100s of girls at recordings of shows at a TV Centre they were never filmed in.

It is quite disturbing how you cherry pick reports that favour your view whether it's some tosh about Milliband or Syria.

I have been monitoring the numbers all night and it's even less than usual..one party getting around 300K more votes out of 14 million. This has given them 30 more seats but over 20 are on a razor edge of 200-500 votes.

But The Greens have got one extra seat in The Senate and Labor another 11 which gives them & Labor the balance of power for 6 years so one party can rule the House of Reps and huff and puff but the Senate can reject any bill...as they have already been doing for 6 years.

So what usually happens is they have to do deals to get any bill passed and The Greens with now 11 seats can demand what they want.

Indeed...the far left now has the real power without the responsibility.

It's a win win situation.

I think ignoring is a good idea when either side resorts to silly insults. I do it myself.
