TOPIC: Caligula
#102009
Caligula 11 Years, 10 Months ago
Yesterday, after all this time, I finally watched Caligula, rumoured to be one of the worst films ever made. And for once rumour was dead right. Ghastly movie. With names such as Gore Vidal, John Gielgud, Peter O'Toole and Helen Mirren involved, it should at least have been bearable but it's not. Utterly, utterly terrible.

The adult version is even worse, with third rate porno added for good measure!

I, Claudius was as superb as Caligula is ghastly (and Biggins was atrocious as Claudius though Malcolm's Caligula was just too terrible for words - and we saw far too much of him though his best feature was prominent).

Funny I was only thinking the other day that Biggins' best role and performance as an actor was as Lukewarm in Porridge.
