On BBC News he - again - made the intelligent comment that the vast majority of Syrians may not like Assad much but they don't like the rebels either and all they want is the violence to STOP and life to go back to normal.

Don't increase the killing. Stop it.

Do you think Assad will be listening?

Hasn't it been the total intransigence of Assad - determined to keep his family's four-decade total control of the country - that is the heart of the whole problem?

GET RID OF ASSAD .... the sooner the better.

Jeremy Bowen also said (on 6pm BBC News) that the town of Maaloula - which the Syrian government claimed 2 days ago to have re-taken - is still in rebel hands.

You simply cannot believe ANYTHING that the Assad regime says

I wonder what restrictions he is under - given that he is one of the very few journalists allowed into Syria?

Nobody's doubting that Assad's regime lies ITK; some of us feel the other side might lie too. Nobody thinks North Korea is a wonderful place but some of us don't think we ought to go in and bomb them. Nobody likes the Iranian killings of people but we don't want to send the troops in. Nobody approves of Israelis seizing Palestinian ground but some of us don't want to declare war on Israel. Some of us didn't approve of killing innocent Arabs in Iraq and Libya. Some of us are less ready than you to invade other countries or interfere with their domestic problems.

You think that's a good solution. Point made. Please stop going on about it.

... but you have NO solution, JK ... just the vain hope that if nobody does anything then maybe it will sort itself out.

Meanwhile ... another 100,000 die !

A prediction; fewer will die in Syria if the USA don't bomb the country than if they do.

The problem in Syria is that lots of countries have been interfering...namely cruel despots like Saudi Arabia,Kuwait etc.
The war would have been over by now had they not have played regional hatred politics, all based on religion.
