Entertainment USA Plus... 11 Years, 9 Months ago
My old researcher (and more), Colin Marchant, who took over from Helen Fielding after the first series of Entertainment USA (Helen went on to write Bridget Jones - the Karma of King) - is putting together a series of video films of his life and just sent me the Ent USA one - fantastic, very funny and great TV. BBC4 should pick it up and show it immediately.

JK why not put the episodes on a DVD-R and flog them on eBay, sure one your mates be able to do it for you.

Numerous problems Andrew; the BBC claim to own the rights (and they may do, but contracts back then did NOT include Internet use); and there are loads of bits that would need clearance (movie trailers, music videos etc)... all easily cleared by the BBC if they decided to show them, and very cheap to repeat. Plus excellent nostalgic qualities for those classic hits and films from 30 years ago. Huge appeal on, say, BBC4.

I would love to see these old shows, however the bbc or any other mainstream channel are unlikely to show a series hosted by a convicted sex offender (rightly or wrongly). They won't even show shows containing persons merely accused of sex offences. You've served your time, whether you were guilty or not, so I don't see what their problem is. Eastenders showed Leslie Grantham, a convicted killer for over 10 years.

Fortunately their problem and not mine; I'm happily forging on, doing new things. Sadly, I think it's the viewers' loss, but since when has that bothered schedulers?
