Merkel's astonishing huge victory - this woman and her coalition government has been spectacularly successful, keeping Germany economically head above water whilst saving several European countries single handed (virtually) - Germany has a decent social European conscience yet also survives without the awful fascistic immigration policies of the UK.

Democracy may not work but Germany is giving it a good name.
