Happy Birthday Radio Times - 90 today 11 Years, 9 Months ago
I've had several huge spreads in it (oddly not featured in their birthday celebrations but all cherished in my scrap books).

Still sells 800,000 copies a week.

I get it, often for whenever I go away - especially the double Christmas issues.

But my magazine of choice for TV schedules is the Sunday Times Culture section... and the Saturday Mail magazine is good too.

TV Choice is perfect for 38p. I know people who have Radio Times in the living room and have the Daily Mail Tv guide in the kitchen.

It's amazing how much a TV guide can say about people.

Agreed Andrew; I thought I was the only person who'd spotted that.

Yes; how people check the TV schedules is very revealing.

Its lovely to hear about a physical format magazine that is still doing so well in this day and age. Long may Radio Times continue!

Interesting also to hear about the psychology you attach to the TV guide a person chooses to use. I agree that you can tell a lot about a person from little things and believe this was why the Sherlock Holmes stories were so successful as they highlighted the fact.

Personally, I tend to use whatever TV guide somebody else has bought. Now, considering I have a fear of taking responsibility in life, that is quite revealing is it not? Is it? I don't know...

I think I have a chameleon like ability to 'row in' with whoever I'm with and as fiercely passionate as I am about somethings I can be quite adaptable and relaxed about accepting others.

I also find it interesting to view your scrapbooks JK. I also keep them but mine are rather like my life -rather disorganised and not in chronillogical (can't spell that grrr!) order. I do put dates, and the paper it is from underneath but often have items from different eras on the same page.

Some Radio Times guides are worth money, and the BBC are using them to help them recover lost TV shows which we know have been wiped.

I remember our family only getting it over Christmas. Then (in the 80's) you had the faff of having to buy Radio Times for BBC channel listings and TV Times for the commercial channel listings. Hmmm.....Memories of Christmas evenings watching Only Fools', over-eating from a ballotine of Leonida's creme filled chocolates.

It's Leonidas, Foz, and they are still fabulous (and you can get sugar free ones now - in Harrods).

My dad still gets them from Harrods at Christmas - I can only handle eating 2 at a sitting these days, but they are fab....
