TOPIC: Pam Ayres

Pam Ayres 11 Years, 9 Months ago
On Brekkie TV - I think she's a bit like Marmite and I absolutely love her; she's sweet, funny and very witty.
Other opinions?

And she keeps bees... that's always a clue; bees and honey, one of nature's finest inventions. Bees, as we now know, are essential; there can be no life without them. Far more important than humans.

Couldn't bear her years ago, but she's a sharp woman and, so long as she doesn't recite one of her ghastly poems, I quite like her. She's good on Just a Minute.

Poetry.........should be consigned to the dustbin. If you have got something to say, say it.

Don't flounce it up in fancy high and mighty alliteration and rhyme and symbolism.......its not big and its not clever

I love Pam's poems; they make me giggle - but for sheer poetry I reckon great lyric writers are way up there; Smokey Robinson, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Hal David and just check out the words of Bob Dylan's Chimes of Freedom if you want real poetry.

Some of them are good but I just can't stand the way she delivers them. And you forgot Paul Simon!

Back to Pam, yes her norfolk accent is very endearing. She reminds me of my childhood watching her on opportunity knocks and various guest appearances. She has hardly changed over the years, long may she continue
