Political Party Conferences... 11 Years, 9 Months ago
Boring boring boring; get togethers of people with no power, no ability, no talent talking platitudes and cliches... the only reason the media gives them any coverage at all is because it always has done. Self perpetuating crap.

If I ran a newspaper I'd ban all convention coverage.

If Harry Secombe ruled the world, The Goons would trash all bent-media.

very boring and no doubt hedda would be thrown out as I was at Cherie Blair's 'charity' lunch for asking the wrong question.

Would that be Cyril SMITH? And would "sausages" be a euphemism?

Ha ha ha! Thank you, Esther, and thank you, Jonathan. I am reminded of the dog called Pickles - not Wilfrid, nay, nor Eric! - who found the World Cup trophy under a gooseberry bush in 1966. He was rewarded with a bowl of sausages, and caused quite a media stir. My dear friend Hedda, I recall, was then sent out by his newspaper - which was no snoozepaper! - dressed up in a Disney dog outfit to beg outside the butcher's shop that had given Pickles the award. Oh the laughter. He got a double page spread out of that. Underneath his bottom! Tee hee! But seriously,Esther, I am indebted to Mr K King of Chelsea for the following cutting from the Gregg's Newsletter, dated 1 October: "The winner of a month's supply of luxury toilet paper goes to Mr Dick Trickle of Dulwich". Ha ha! And finally, Esther, pin back you lug 'oles for an ode:

Streets full of people
All alone
Roads full of houses
Never home
My sat nav's broken.
