Two children removed and traumatised needlessly. 11 Years, 8 Months ago
So it seems that neither of the two Irish Roma children taken from their parents were stolen, and both belong to the parents.

I would expect the trauma of being snatched to have lasting effects on the children and their families.
If there is a good reason for doubt, why not just leave the children where they are, but with policemen outside the house until checks are completed?

I know, why not just leave the kids where there were but take samples for the DNA test and only if they establish that the kids are not theirs take action? The world's gone mad,it's becoming like Nazi Germany all over again...

Have you ever seen the film 'Skin'? About a white couple in South Africa that had two black or half cast looking children? It's a true story - it's a genetic through back, and me and my mothers hair isn't the same colour...

I will look out for that one, Anon, thank you.
It is just unbelievable how people who claim to be "protecting" children can harm them in this way and presumably think nothing of it.

Now there starts the assumption that if you and your partner are dark haired and your child is blonde then they cannot possibly be yours.
A lot of small children are blonde at a young age and turn darker as they get older. I myself had a fantastic blonde head of hair until I was 4. Both my parents have dark hair.

Both my Grandparents had very dark hair as adults and a few of their children had white blonde hair as toddlers, on of them seems to have gotten progressively dark as he got older but not really dark until in about around his 20's his hair was totally black - and he is not the type to dye is hair and by the time he came along my grandparents would have had absolutely NO need or desire to steal any children - quite the opposite.

I was born with very dark brown hair then it all feel out and grew in blonde, which probably started getting a bit darker around 6 or 7...

I am not sure why the doctors say that she doesn't have albinism if her eyes are not affected.
There are different forms of it, and it doesn't always affect the eyes.
You can be affected everywhere but the eyes, or just the eyes, or anything in-between or both. (We have it in our family in various forms)

It seems that with parents so dark as this and with hair that thick the most likely explanation would be albinism. Most fair babies i've seen at that age have either very fine wispy hair (not much at all) or are just about bald. She looks more like a would be black girl stripped of the colour. She's cute though, lol

Race is a funny old thing.Take yourself into the Kurdish areas of western Asia.,go down any main street and observe the people there.
I've yet to see an adult pure blond, but plenty of light brown heads, wouldn't be out of place in rural Blightey. On the other hand lots of 'darkies' who wouldn't be out of place in India.

The question I would ask Social services is this, how many dark skinned kids have been taken away from light skinned parents?

The lunatics have taken over the asylum. Check out the blond, blue eyed Berbers of North Africa (and their legacy in Spain). The days of skin assumption are so past.

It turns out that the Bulgarian Roma family ARE the parents of the girl found with the Greek couple.

What is so wrong here?

It appears that a family that couldn't look after their child found a family that could.

Isn't that exactly what Social Services are supposed to do?

OK - so they didn't go through the correct procedures (but do the Roma ever?)

At the end of the day I bet this child has been far less traumatised than if she had been taken in by Social Services and handed around a dozen foster parents while Social Services decided what to do with her !!!

Exactly!
It seems that the natural mother did the best thing for her child.
There is a world of difference between putting your child up for anonymous adoption and actually choosing their family yourself and knowing that they will be safe and loved.
