Just got round to formatting 40 of the 50 show series played out on Radio 2 during 2012? It was a radio montage, year by year, from 1950-2000, about 55 mins each episode, music and news. No talking heads, no debate or voiceover, just editing.

For my money, the best bits are 1980-1989 as it resonates my memory best.....and guess what folks! Its all been done before. Strikes, riots, international strife, terrorism, hijackings, murder, recession, job losses, privatisation....you name it, its already happened.

Everyone should have a listen and stop moaning about todays situation, because in 20 years time, you'll still be moaning and nothing will have changed, because the present is the future and the past
