As millions of pounds pours into the Disaster fund - doesn't it make you really proud to be British ?

Forget the so-called "austerity", the cuts, and the other usual daily whines and moans - when it comes to the crunch the British are at the front.

I was in an Oxfam shop today (wonderful books / amazing prices !) when a little frail old lady came in and wanted to donate £5 to the disaster fund. She probably couldn't afford it, but had the Christianity to know what her priorities should be.

I hope she has a wonderful Christmas - she deserves it.

NOTE - If the BBC had any common sense they would donate ALL the money from CIN to this fund - instead of the usual "playpens for unmarried mothers" type spurious "charities"

BBC should be privatised or Tv licence should scrapped what Tories said they do.

What about Chavs, dolers, unemployed, socialists, single mums with lots of kids, obese and people are generally a strain on the NHS are they still wonderful ?

Only if they donate 25% of their money - which, of course, is really OUR money ! - to the disaster fund !!!!!!!

It is very often the case that the poorest areas (such as Kirkby) give the most to charity.

the working classes have ponies to tend.

Let the rich pay.

Its not necessarily our money, benefits are insurance money. You pay National Insurance when you work, and most people do at some point and if you find yourself out of work, then you can draw upoon the insurance, just like when you have an accident in your car. There are more people claiming benefits than ever because the rich employers prefer to bring people in from abroad or outsource work because they are prepared to work for slave labour.
