Loving episode 1. Very watchable modern history lesson.

Is it me, or does the Cold War now seem almost ancient forgotten history? But it only thawed 25 years ago............

It's interesting how Russia has re-shaped itself to become the new leader of the world, isn't it?

They took a lead over Syria, and ensured that they got what they wanted whilest also appearing to be the power-broker and peace-maker.

Meanwhile, the USA looked weak and ineffectual, trying to keep up.

Unfortunately the USA under the excellent orator and all round nice likebale Obama have zero policies for foreign diplomacy.........the USA is inward looking, feeling threatened and so instead of taking leads, it is hunkering down and trying to ignor conflict and save money, bring its troops home and stay low down below the radar.............Obama is a Democrat, he isn't sabre rattling which is good, but I am dissapointed in his foreign policy lead. He's no Bill CLinton in that respect......
