The argument isn't won via the extremities,as mentioned above,it's won on how it affects the vast majority.

Esther McVey is wrong and I think she knows it. Some of the sanctions are too harsh, and sometimes they are too lax, and the system needs fixing, but I cant see anything wrong with sanctioning someone who is repeatedly late for a job placement.

I heard stories about sanctioning, I got sanctioned for doing a sheet less but that's what the Job Centre gave me, too many crosses out and mistakes is one. At the moment when Job Centre's are full you won't get seen on time, when you do your late and sanctioned.

I just want ITK to visit a Job Centre and understand how they operate.

My appoint is 9am and on one forms a queue, it's a free for all. Pattaya might be able to clarify this for me.

The GOOD news just keeps on coming .... ! 11 Years, 8 Months ago
However, the OECD said the UK would grow by 1.4% this year, an upgrade from its forecast in May of 0.8%.

There are elements in this outlook that are sunnier than the OECD's previous forecast. The UK economy is one example. It is said to have gathered momentum. But the global forecast has been lowered. It will grow if these predictions are right, but no real celebrations for a while yet.

UK growth would accelerate to 2.4% in 2014, above economists' expectations of 2.2%, it said.

It said signs of improvement were "particularly apparent" in the UK, and monetary policy was likely to remain "appropriate" for some time.

In situations like this I find it best to just organise a queue myself. Just do your best "Miss Jean Brodie" voice and people always comply.

Don't be late !

Countries such as the Netherlands and Denmark have welfare rules that prevent young people claiming conventional benefits. The IPPR found that they have much lower rates of youth unemployment. Only 4 per cent of Dutch youngsters are not in employment or training, and 7 per cent of young Danes. In the UK, the rate is 14 per cent.
