Breaking News - Paul Flowers arrested !
news.sky.com/story/1172122/ex-co-op-bank...aul-flowers-arrested

Desperate attempts by Ed Balls to distance Labour from the Co-operative Bank scandal foundered last night as startling new evidence emerged of the intimate ties between the party and the stricken lender.

Mr Balls insisted that Flowers, a former business adviser to leader Ed Miliband, was 'out, out, out' of the Labour Party.

But questions intensified over the opposition's cosy relationship with the bank after it emerged that Mr Balls had bragged about his role in rubber-stamping legislation that paved the way for a disastrous takeover deal at the Co-op.

He also accepted a £50,000 donation from the bank in March 2012, when Flowers was the bank’s chairman.

There were also mounting questions about the extraordinary special treatment the bank gave to Labour - extending 'soft' loans with preferential rates of interest and admitting that other clients would never be allowed to keep on borrowing so much.

When Labour was on the brink of bankruptcy, then general secretary Peter Watt had a meeting with a senior Co-op executive at which it was agreed that vast debts would not be called in.

This is the kind of headline/story which makes me laugh. How many times do the public of the country have to be reminded that those 'whiter than white' persons who run the country and shout loudest about honesty and integrity are the very same who are allegedly up to all of the tricks/ use the old pals routine etc, etc to their mutual advantage!

Sadly, in my opinion, it doesn't seem to matter which political party we are talking about either...

I think it does.

Wherever you see Council corruption and ineptitude - you will find a Labour Council !

The Tories are money-makers (fortunately !) and make no secret of that - which is why the country CAN pay dole money and keep the NHS going !

As I've said before ... Labour "preach" to their supporters (too dumb to believe anything else) while they line their pockets at the expense of everyone else.

Disagree there our Council is Tory, still no local investment, high crime rates, little jobs and first to start canvassing.

UKIP are favourites for this area then Labour it be very close.

It WILL be remembered - especially in the run-up to the election (and maybe the expected Court case won't have fully concluded even then !)

Remember the "Labour isn't working" campaign ? (which wiped-out Labour)

I suggest we now run a campaign about cronyism !

Labour has taken "soft loans" (when they were effectively bankrupt !) / campaign "donations" etc - and now try to pretend that they do not even know who the Crystal Meth-odist is !

It also transpires that Labour prevented other Council members (in Bradford) from knowing exactly why the Minister of Rent Boys was actually persuaded to leave the Council (and the Lib-Dems have opened a new enquiry - which will be public)

(With friends like that you don't need enemies !)

No comments on these ITK ?

No - don't have time to read racist rubbish.
There have always been those who "want to blame foreigners" for their own (self inflicted) woes.

Get rid of all the foreigners - and you will still be in exactly the same situation.

Here's a well reasoned article about Labour's "diversity" and how it got us into this mess -

Between a rock and a hard place.
You can't do anything about immigration while in the current agreement with the EU.
The Tory failed promises about immigration have actually cost us,as the only people they can hit re non EU citizens.Given the mess the EU is in these are often people who can actually help pour economy, while the EU gypsys continue to abuse the system freely.

Labour’s embarrassing immigration secrets revealed

Reports kept under wraps by Labour showing that immigrants who came to Britain from Romania and Bulgaria had low education levels and were more likely to claim out-of-work benefits are to be released for the first time by ministers.

The figures are contained in five separate controversial studies commissioned by the last Labour government but never published - amid claims the party wanted to avoid a damaging row about its record before last year’s general election.

Ministers accused Labour of a “disturbing cover up” and promised to publish the reports - which cost the taxpayer a total of £165,000 and have now been seen by The Sunday Telegraph - in full within days.

The documents also contain revelations that immigrants are less likely to engage in any form of “civic participation.”
