The second Liverpudlian band so far, and another who learnt their craft in seedy Hamburg. Formed at the end of 1962, their hit making line-up survived for just 11 months, and with their third single still in the charts, three of the band walked out. Two of their replacements are undoubtedly the most famous former members of the Mojos.

Aynsley Dunbar joined in November 1963 as drummer. His CV now includes stints with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Jeff Beck Group, Mothers Of Invention, Journey, Jefferson Starship and Whitesnake, and he was the session drummer on David Bowie's "Diamond Dogs" LP.

A teenage hairdresser by the name of Lewis Collins picked up the bass in the Mojos in December 1963 - his uncle was the band's manager. Collins later found success not as a musician, but as an actor, playing Bodie in the LWT cops-with-guns-and-fast-cars series "The Professionals", which ran from 1977 to 1983.

Shocked to find out that A) he was 67 and b) he is no longer with us. Its a shame that he didn't contiue his great success that he had with the professionals. I can't remember the last time I saw him on tv

A simple look at his career from the link above will show how quickly he fell from his early 80s height.

Apparently he went for an audition for James bond, but didn't get it because he was too aggressive. How differently his career would have turned out, if he got that role.

Pity Cubby B didn't watch The Professionals because Lewis Collins had everything to be Bond - the looks, the style plus the humour. Lewis Collins was already an established sitcom actor prior to The Professionals.

I've always loved his work, the Jack the Ripper mini series with Michael Caine is almost perfect television, that even my 7 year old son was named after him!

Although as I said, the Jack the Ripper mini series, is BLOODY SUPERB. Even Michael Caine is good in it!
