The Mayor of London says greed is good for the economy and society is hampered by low IQ levels.

"Whatever you may think of the value of IQ tests, it is surely relevant to a conversation about equality that as many as 16% of our species have an IQ below 85," Mr Johnson said in a speech.

"While about 2% have an IQ above 130."

Mr Johnson made the comments at the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) on Wednesday night, in a speech that sought to highlight the benefits from inequality.

The mayor argued that economic inequality was beneficial as it encouraged people to strive for success.

We studied intelligence as part of my degree.
Most psychological disciplines agree there is no proper way of measuring it.IQ tests are nothing more than an indicator of ability to pass tests of this type.
The best way I ever heard of measuring intelligence was 'the ability to adapt to your environment'.

So in that case foolish politicians who can't earn a 'real living' don't figure so high.But a dole dosser who manages to milk the welfare system and get lots for nothing may well have a higher rate of real intelligence quota than most!

Yes, and those of us who earn less than the dossers and still have to pay for them must be as thick as mince.

Boris would know all about low IQ levels. I would be amazed if his got into double figures. All he has done as London Mayor is open up all the things that Ken started Boris Bikes (Ken Bikes), London Olympics. He did ban alcohol on the underground however it never happened anyway and there is Knowone there to enforce it.

.... but will not generate the kind of income that is needed to pay for the dossers - so Boris is actually right.

Everyone has different types of intelligence and skills.

Some people can read and not do maths and vice versa, some people can play many instruments some individuals can just play one, some people can drive some can't, some people are good with DIY some people are not, some women give good blow jobs some women are terrible at it.

He articulated his argument poorly.

Maybe he should have forgone the IQ and intelligence route and spoke more about diversity in society and making the point that all contributions are important , and that the key is that people get involved at any level....

It's the contribution, and the fact that people are engaged in contributing, that is important, not necessarily the level of perceived value of one form of involvement above another..........society is knackered when the minority are 'carrying' the majority.............
