Helicopter crash - looks very serious 11 Years, 7 Months ago
8 hours later and still no casualty details. I fear this is far worse than we realise.

I do hope (but am not holding my breath) that when the reason for the police flying around, wasting our time and money, is finally revealed (at the inquiry?) we are not even more shocked.

Fingers crossed for better news - my own suspicion is that the flat roof simply wasn't strong enough to hold the weight and we may see lower casualties than if there had been an explosion, fire etc.

But an examination of police behaviour is long overdue. I thought it would come in 2013, along with individual accountability after Hillsborough, Plebgate etc... but perhaps 2014 will see it kick in bigtime.

Gordon Smart (ex Sun Bizarre - aren't we all? - now Editor of the Scottish Sun) all over the news as an eye witness.

Why do you always hope for worse news?

What on earth is 'Police Scotland' ???

This re-branding all started last year with Team GB.

I'm going to start my own by re-naming the NHS as Health UK ... and other readers have suggestions?

Do you think a different roof might have had a different out come?

It's likely a very old building and the roof was probably very weak, I don't know whether that could sometimes be an advantage though because of less weight falling on people etc...?

I suppose most don't really expect a helicopter to go crashing in to such a small low down building, but they can crash anywhere.

Very shocking...

Police Scotland is an amalgamation of all of Scotland's forces ITK. A cost cutting exercise by the SNP that was not popular. I think you may aporove!

No concern or interest (from ITK) in the 8 dead - or the 14 still seriously injured!

He's now more interested in the names given to organizations.

One wonders why he posted on the tragedy, at all.

ITK classic rubbish

A boring old man trying to make his daily story - right or wrong

When he's wrong. Just changes the subject....

... with heat-seeking lamps? Quite possible.

Whatever they were up to ... low flying over a city is a very dangerous thing to do (as has been demonstrated).

There are very few instances where this can be justified - ie risk vs result - so I repeat .... I do hope that when the reason for the police flying around, wasting our time and money, is finally revealed (at the inquiry?) we are not even more shocked.

Standing on top deck of a P&O boat in Dover this morning another police copter flew over the town.
Yes you do have to ask if all the flights are important.

Perhaps it just lost control and couldn't help where it ended up landing?

Indeed

But my point is what was so urgent / important that warrants low flying over busy built-up area in the first place?

Looking for people parked on double yellow line maybe ?
