I'm glad they are doing this, long overdue and they are one of my favourite comedy team. Stan Laurel was a comedy genius, of that there can be no doubt. When I was in LA a couple of years ago I took the time to visit the famous 'Music Box' steps (yes they are still there). I sat on them imagining that runaway piano jangling down to the bottom. Fab stuff.

I don't click links: Many on here think they make their point.

But L&H are worthy of more analysis, of all kinds.

Original humour - mostly between the wars.

They came here (and to Ireland) in the 50's.

L got an an Oscar, after H died; he (L) was English.

Several years ago I was in the membership club, they sent me a article that the steps and surroundings, are being maintained so they are exactly in the movie after all this years.

It should be interesting as long as they don't let James Cordon anywhere near it.

There is one scene (Sons of the Desert, if memory serves) where Stan eats a wax apple. The moment when he realises it's wax, thinks about it, and then carries on eating: sublime. It's the most beautifully acted bit of comedy I think I've ever seen.

Indeed Pru, one of my favourite scenes. It's shown however that he has form with the wax apple eating as dialogue spoken by Hardy's wife suggests: "That's the third apple that's gone missing this week!".

Yes the steps have survived well. It's built up now on both sides though, there's a plaque near the bottom step commemorating the Music Box film.

Amazing how many good films he has ruined.

How many? I can't remember more than a handful of films he's been in, let alone good ones. History Boys - good film, he didn't ruin it. The Boat That Rocked - not a good film, he didn't ruin it. The Three Muskateers - not seen it, was it good, did he ruin it? That's about it. Not exactly an 'amazing' list.
