England - who have not won anything for about 50 years ! - look certain to exit the next World Cup in the first round (that's not my opinion - that's Greg Dyke's - and he runs the FA !)

That's what you expect when you scramble to qualify and then hope for the weakest draw !

I remember The Sun back page at the last draw - It had EASY in big letters, remember getting a day's off work when we were playing.

England fans will still pay thousands - just see them play, waste of money and time and who will stay up at 2am ?

Can't they play ALL their matches at that time? - then the rest of us can simply ignore it

What are you talking about? scramble to qualify. They were top of their group and didn't lose a single game. Get your facts right.

I wasn't thinking of this particular campaign - although there were a few non-entity teams !

I was speaking generally - the fact that usually they only get through if placed against a bunch of no-hopers ... and we all know how the "rounds" go, don't we?

Lose first game / make reasonable showing in the second, building hopes - before they are dashed completely in the third game !
