And actually my point is - I'm not (here) discussing content or morality or policies specifically; I'm talking about the art of holding attention and delivering a speech which holds the listener. Obama is very good at that (so was Enoch Powell, though I never agreed with him).
The strange thing about Obama is that he's only good at the big speeches. All the other ones he delivers in a horrible, jerky rhythm that makes him sound like he's reading a telegram. Most good orators are just good full stop. He's like some robot who needs cranking up to 'FLUENT' in order to be effective.
