Mike Baldwin warns against Ken Barlow 11 Years, 6 Months ago
In the trial one of the "victims" mentioned that Mike Baldwin warned her about Ken Barlow whilst she was on the Coronation Street set between 1967 and 1970.
This has been reported by all the tabloids but not one has questioned the validity of the statement.
The character of Mike Baldwin was not introduced into Coronation Street until 1976.

giles I looked up his Wiki entry and read when i read the media reports. I failed to spot your brilliant discovery. Well done.

Unfortunately, and I know this from personal experience, either it will be ignored as unimportant (with the Judge telling the jury to "forget they ever heard it") or the dates will be changed (why a 12 year old became a 16 year old in my trial) and Roache will be given NO TIME to prepare or deliver an alternative defence.
It really is extraordinary - the state of British Justice. Someone has to do something about it. A disgrace.
Re:Mike Baldwin warns against Ken Barlow 11 Years, 6 Months ago
I assume this came out under cross examination....up to the defence to make something of it.
Even if the judge is biased, then up to the defence to get it in the press.

Funny - even though I am not a Corrie fan, I thought that immediately when I saw the dates - Johnny Briggs' stomping ground at that time was more likely to be Pinewood, nowhere near Granada studios. I expect the media are not permitted to point out this erroneous fact during a trial as that is the job of the defence team.

Interesting
Something else i noticed on the sky news live trial feed, the victim backtracked when saying Bill Roache gave her lifts
home then realised it wasn't Bill at all it was Neville Buswell (Ray Langton)

And of course the man who played him is now conveniently...
a lawyer in NSW has successfully over-turned a 100 year old precedent which is being hailed as one of the most significant torts in as much time :
he went to the High Court in Canberra and succeeded : they agreed that a woman wrongly jailed for 10 years (and has been fighting for another 10 years)for attempted murder can sue police for malicious prosecution.
it's estimated the government spent $30M fighting this case and they lost : could open the floodgates for massive lawsuits against cops who lie and bend the truth and 'create' evidence.
laws / precedents in the colonies are often sited in the UK and visa versa.
JK is right..the time of acountabilty is here...but will we go down the tube before it kicks in ?

Ah Ah! - so she was wrong about Mike Baldwin, Oh well, doesn't matter:
Under cross-examination the alleged victim admitted having been mistaken when she told the court last week that the Coronation Street character concerned was Mike Baldwin rather than Len Fairclough.
She told the court that she had cried when she realised she had made the mistake because she was "mixed-up, upset and confused".

So it was 'Swimming pool Len'?
And there was I thinking it was Colonel Mustard in the kitchen fondling here with a potato peeler!
On a serious note juries can be highly intelligent creatures,a good barrister can sow the seeds of reality. If she lied about this, then other things will become obvious.
Re:Peter Adamson warns against Ken Barlow 11 Years, 5 Months ago
Notice she says "Len Fairclough" warned her. Len Fairclough never existed. He was a fictional character. She was warned by an imaginary person. Where the fuck is the White Rabbit?

It seems she also "imagined" a ride in a Rolls Royce !!! -
"The alleged victim accepted that she was also wrong to have claimed that Mr Roache had given her a lift home from the Granada studios in his Rolls Royce".
