I read somewhere that when the Coalition reduced tax from 50p to 45p the actual amount of tax collected (in £'s) went up !

Obviously other reasons apart from the fact that the lower rate would make people want to work harder (and keep more of their money).

God help us if they get in power again. They are a party full of Champagne Socialists, feminists, liars and morons.

... and guess what ? They have also been converted to sensible politics !

They want to "balance the budget by 2020" (which of course means more cuts as thats the ONLY way they can do it) !

If you refuse a job you get sanctioned anyway it's rule that been out for years.

those who would pay 50% are generally paying 50% of 40% or less after tax arrangements.

making tax avoiding corporations pay their correct tax on profits(like News Ltd- HQ in The Caymans- profits made in the UK but sent abroad) would pay for everything including social security.

Just as lowering the tax actually brought in MORE money that keeping it at a higher level, so encouraging Corps to settle here (and employ people - who also pay tax !) will boost the overall level of income !
